Norse Projects Sample Sale

What’s not to love about Sample Sale Season?! Tomorrow there will be a one-day sale by Norse Projects! Norse Projects is a Danish half hipster/half outdoorsman kind of shop, where they sell both their own brand and brands such as Red Wing, Levi’s Vintage Clothing, Yuketen, Monitaly, Indigofera, Pendleton,Trickers, Post Overalls, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Garbstore, Fjällraven, Our Legacy, Steven Allan, Nanamica, Adidas Originals by Originals and Nike sportswear.

Their clothing is functional, qualitative, both classic and ultra modern. They specialise in menswear; blending traditional work and outdoor pieces with the avant garde, Japanese specialty products, technical outerwear and sportswear.

So I’m not really expecting any girly-girl clothing, but hey a backpack is a backpack 😉

Those Swedes…

Remember I was heading over to Malmö a couple of weeks ago? I didn’t really made any pictures because I just wanted to chillax (haha, why did that word went out of fashion), but I couldn’t let you guys miss out on the above sign!

Those Swedes sure know hot to partypoop 😉

Before I forget to tell you, I signed up for the 15k Nike Marathon Start Up. It’s a run where you can either run 5, 10 or 15K on a 5K route in the park. You can easily change your mind along the way and just run a game more or less. So even though it is nice to know I can also “just” run the 10K, they compensate you for running more: You get your distance in percentage discount on Nike goodies after the run!

We Love Us Some Candy…

As a kid my parents used to have several restaurants (which Asian kids’ parents didn’t?!) and I loved tagging along when they went to the wholesale supermarkets (you know, those where you’re only allowed in with a membership card). Why you might ask?! First of all: there were ALWAYS samples to try *nom nom nom*, but best of all my parents would allow me to buy one box of candy (yeah, those 1kg boxes…)!! Thinking back at it, it’s pretty insane to let your kid eat that much sugar – but I’m not gonna lie, I enjoyed every piece!!

So when the boyfriend announced he received a membership card for Metro (the Danish equivalent to the Dutch Makro), I couldn’t wait to go there! It sounds fruity, but I really enjoy places like that even though it’s a tad depressing; the day we went it was raining and apparently their ceiling was not made to cope with that, so there were buckets filling up with water literally EVERYWHERE. But it has rows and rows filled with candy, cookies, ingredients and stuff nobody really needs (think: beverage can resealers), so what’s not to love!

The only factor I kind of forgot, after walking around for hours like a kid drugged up on sugar and deciding which things would enrich my life (a bag of Dorito’s, candy, a tray of bottled water, a random bottle of beer, a can of lychee…), was that with my dad my only duty was to find myself that really precious box of candy and he would pay for it (consequently, I would run to the car to rip open the packaging – while my dad would tell my not to mess up his car). As a kid, I never really realized how darn expensive those were!

So, the biggest difference with the 10-year old kid (okay I lie, I joined my parents pretty much until I moved to Copenhagen) and the 25-year old kid that still likes her candy, is that she has to pay for it herself now! And boy, I can tell you it’s no fun to realize that all your most random items, which not even contain real ingredients, cost more than 750 kroner (100 euro’s)!

Pff, grown-up life sucks!

O.P.I. – Man With The Golden Gun Topcoat

First of all, sorry for the lack of posting. I have been sick for the better part of last week (darn you Fall weather!) and besides Kulturnatten (a night where Copenhagen and all of its cultural institutions are open), a couple of sample sales and watching series my life hasn’t really been that excited! But okay, this week (actually, I think today is the exact date) the new O.P.I Skyfall 007 (James Bond) limited edition got released.

Even though my mom and sister send me a survival package last week filled with goodies (among others these amazing Essie nailpolishes) and I kinda thought I was really content with my nail polish stash (perhaps I’ll make a pictures of them soon), I couldn’t resist to pursue the Man with the Golden Gun Topcoat! Luckily the boyfriend stayed home for the day and I could convince him to head over to the department store Magasin and buy the last bottle!!

Sorry for the insane difference in quality in the above pictures, I made them after dinner and the lighting in my apartment is not really thaaaat efficient. The Man with the Golden Gun Topcoat sure is a special topcoat: it is filled with flakes of 18 carat gold!! More luxurious than that you won’t find it! I’m wearing it on top of my new Orly Bonder Top (which I’m pretty content about! Who knows, a review might follow) and Essie’s “Bordeaux”. It spreads easy on the nails, but you might need more than one layer to get a cosy amount of gold on them! I’m so in love with it! So rush out of the door and get yourself a bottle too for 295 kroner/39.95 euro!

Sample Sale: Stine Goya & Becksöndergaard and Stella Nova

YAAAY, sample sale season is on! Last week I scored a 5preview jeans for a mere 250 dkk at the Agency V stock sale (heaps and heaps of Monki stuff was offered too!) and this week there will be 2 stock sales worth going to!

Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a Becksöndergaard and Stella Nova stock sale at St. Kannike Stræde 19. Becksöndergaard has some darn cute leather bags and purses in their collection and I hope to score an every-day bag!

In addition, Thursday, Friday and Saturday will there be a Stine Goya sale. Stine Goya is on of my favorite Danish brands and if the bank account allows me I hope to find a nice coat or anything that will prepare me for winter!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I went to crossfit on Saturday and Sunday (omg, is that grown-up life – working out instead of boozing up?!) and explored the city a bit with the boyfriend’s new car (I will post some pictures of it later)!

With love,
-Janet
