I don’t think I’ll ever get a tattoo myself (but I guess never say never), but I’m always amazed what some people can do (or haha can’t do..) with some ink and skin. A couple of homies from the hood (haha, if you could call The Hague/Zoetermeer a hood…) made an amazing website about the art of ink. Some Quality Meat is a inspiration source for those who are planning some ink or people who are just bored, so definitely check their website out. Not only for the ink, the set-up for the website is also amazeballs!
A couple of weeks ago I saw The XX perform here in Copenhagen. I have written quite a bit about the xx. Normally I’m not really a sucker for indie, but their sound brings you to the perfect chill-out mood.
I like their 2nd album, but I LOVE their debut. Luckily they also played every song from their first album. All in all, it was a great concert. I expected a bit more Jamie XX remixes to their songs, instead of all the originals. But hey, why change a working formula, I guess.. If you can get a hold on some of the tickets for their Europe tour, it’s definitely worth it!
Haha, this youtube literally almost killed me! The Danish language might be one of the most difficult language to understand by ear. While most Dutchies have no problems with reading Danish (Danish is the bastards kid of the Dutch, German and English language), it stays impossible to understand Danes. They mumble, only pronounce half of the letters in a word and to top it all they have the æ. å. and ø to make things even worse.
I can’t even count all the occasions, where I have no idea what was happening around me and just nodded, smiled and answered with a ja, tak (yes, thanks). Haha, luckily those events are becoming rarer and rarer.. Apparently, I do learn myself a thing or two while living here 😉
I totally forgot about these pictures! I kinda tell myself every trip to make more pictures, but while travelling I just forget it! I find my DSLR to heavy to take in-and-out constantly out of my bag, but seeing these pictures back makes me a happy gawl! So Janet, man up and make more pictures!
Groove City Recordsmight be is the most awesome record shop where I have been. First of all because there is this amazing woman owning the shop (most record shops are owned by man) and she knows absolutely EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING! The boyfriend and I stayed for around 1.5 hour in the shop, just to talk about music and Hamburg! Another cool thing is that there’s a sneaker shop-in-shop, with loads of dope sneakers!
I can’t wait to go back to Hamburg and experience the city a bit more!
